Get lost in the majesty of Tasmania’s Tarkine region

On this inspiring journey, you will spend seven days absorbed in the unique splendour of Tasmania’s Tarkine region. Starting in Launceston, you will trek to the unspoiled Philosophers Falls before taking a narrow path through soaring trees to your cabin housing in the heart of the Tarkine. From Mount Donaldson to the Savage River, you’ll feel as if you are walking through the forests of fairy tales; only to uncover the history of a thousand years’ past as you discover Aboriginal middens that dot the uninterrupted Tarkine coast.

It’s then on to Montezuma Falls, where temperate forest flora reclaims the innovative efforts of the past. Hike the peaks neighbouring Cradle Mountain and travel through the Promised Land to the Alum Cliffs. With your adventure complete, enjoy the drive back to Hobart, spending the time watching as the wilderness returns to urbanity through the window.
