The Ride to Raise Awareness is your chance to help end the stigma surrounding bowel cancel and raise money to support those affected by the disease – all through an epic cycling challenge in Cambodia!
The Ride to Raise Awareness brings together supporters from various New Zealand and Australian health and medical research organisations for an unforgettable cycling adventure in Cambodia. You’ll unite as a team, each raising awareness and funds for a critical health organisation close to your heart.
Your cycling adventure will take you beyond the tree-lined boulevards of Siem Reap to the magnificent Angkor Temple Complex and past the city limits into the countryside: through rice paddies, sugar-palm plantations and small villages. You’ll spend half a day discovering the secrets to traditional Cambodian cuisine and learn more about the remarkable history of the Khmer people.
The adventure concludes in Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s bustling capital. Here you will have free time to explore the contrasts of ancient and modern and learn more about the confronting history of this country.
Best of all, you’ll complete the challenge alongside like-minded teammates and expert guides making this challenge one you’ll never forget.
Did you know bowel cancer is the second deadliest cancer in New Zealand? Or that 3000 people will be diagnosed this year – and every year – across the country? Bowel Cancer New Zealand is committed to reducing those statistics by reducing the stigma, spreading awareness for early detection and supporting those who have been diagnosed and their families.
With early detection, bowel cancer is curable in more than 75% of cases. That’s why we need to spread education and awareness campaigns across the country. The bigger our voice becomes, the more New Zealanders will hear our message. With your help, we can reach more people and save more lives.
