The Hike for Health is an extraordinary trekking adventure on the Great Wall of China to raise funds that will help end the stigma surrounding bowel cancer and support people affected by the disease.

The Hike for Health brings together supporters from New Zealand and Australian health and medical research organisations for an unforgettable trekking adventure in China. You’ll unite as a team, each raising awareness and funds for a health organisation close to your heart.

On the Hike for Health, you’ll travel through history to the very heart of China’s ancient culture as you trek along the Great Wall — one of mankind’s most impressive architectural accomplishments. Over five days, you’ll trek some of the most spectacular sections of this world wonder, some parts reclaimed by the forest, others restored to their original magnificence.

Together, you will help Bowel Cancer New Zealand reach new networks, raise vital funds and help save more people from this terrible disease.

Did you know that bowel cancer is the second deadliest cancer in New Zealand? Or that 3000 people will be diagnosed this year – and every year – across the country? Bowel Cancer New Zealand is committed to reducing those statistics by reducing the stigma, spreading awareness for early detection and supporting those who have been diagnosed and their families.

With early detection, bowel cancer is curable in more than 75% of cases. That’s why we need to spread education and awareness campaigns across the country. The bigger our voice becomes, the more New Zealanders will hear our message. By joining the Hike for Health and raising critical funds to support those outcomes, we can reach more people and save more lives.
