Hike the Stunning Southern Alps 2021 for Cancer Society Auckland Northland

You’ll enjoy an amazing adventure trip in New Zealand’s South Island, whilst also helping to beat cancer. The trip explores the beautiful Southern Alps of New Zealand starting in Christchurch – Mt Somers and then finishing up at the Rob Roy Glacier in Queenstown. In between, you’ll trek through the Mt Cook National Park, Sealy Tarns and Lake Ohau covering over 52km in 5 days.

On this adventure you’ll:

 – Enjoy spectacular views down into the Mt Somers as you climb to the top

 – Have a delightful picnic near the shores of the amazing turquoise waters of Lake Tekapo

 – Hike up the famous steps (1800 of them) of Sealy Tarns

 – Discover one of the South Islands hidden gems – Lake Ohau

 – Enjoy a special hike on the last day up the Rob Roy Glacier

As well as having accommodation included in the travel fee, you’ll enjoy dinners and lunches as per the itinerary, water on trekking days, national park fees, and local trekking guides included in the challenge price.

There’s no doubt that it will be a tough challenge, but with the stunning natural landscapes and amazing routes that you’ll be trekking, it will be well worth the effort. Plus, you can feel good knowing that you’re changing the lives of those with cancer with every step!

Your commitment and fundraising for this trek will help to support all New Zealanders who suffer from cancer. The Cancer Society improves community wellbeing by reducing the incidence and impact of cancer. The funds you raise will help people with cancer get the support they need throughout their cancer journey.

Every cent that you raise counts, with $35 helping a Cancer Society nurse be there for a cancer patient with expert advice and support right throughout treatment all the way up to $168 which can help fund ground-breaking cancer research to help protect our children and grandchildren.

“The cancer journey is not easy, but your contribution will bring comfort and hope – extending a helping hand to people with cancer”.
