Taking on an adventure in 2016? While you probably just want to sleep, eat and repeat, the festive season is a great time to kick your fundraising up a gear! Even the biggest Christmas grinches hearts soften at this time of year. So, here are five of our finest festive fundraising tips for a little inspiration (call it an early Christmas present from us).

Wine!

Be sure to get in touch with our friends at Brokenwood Wines!

Exclusive to Inspired Adventurers, Brokenwood offers all our fundraisers great discounts and free delivery on their quality wines. And to top it all off, they will donate $20 to your cause for every case of wine you sell!

This is a great opportunity to ‘add on’ fundraising revenue at your events or functions. The prize of a great bottle of wine is always a crowd pleaser in any raffle, auction, quiz night, bingo evening… the opportunities are endless.

Christmas is your chance to get creative

The silly season is a great opportunity to whip out the craft box and get covering the house in glitter and glue! From Christmas baubles made from painted light bulbs, cards, chocolates, Christmas crackers, knitted tea cosies, hampers or even calendars for the year ahead, everyone is looking to buy something for themselves or someone they love.

Get started now and sell them at your festive fundraising events, locals markets or school fetes, at work and to your family and friends.

Let’s work less and play more!

Every work place becomes jollier at Christmas, so use this time to maximise your fundraising opportunities around the office.

Does your work have an annual Christmas party? Ask if you can add $10 on to the ticket price to go towards your fundraising target. Perhaps you and your colleagues do a Secret Santa gift swap? Why not turn this into a fundraiser too by setting a small ‘buy in’ fee! A dress down day at work, Christmas edition—we’re talking Santa, snowman and reindeer—is also a fun way to raise significant funds.

Christmas time is the best time of year to throw a party

Work is winding up, the holidays are coming and people are jolly. Why not host a Christmas cocktail (or mocktail) party, creating a fun Christmas-themed cocktail list for your friends… Mistletoe martini anyone? With a $15 entry fee, you’re well on your way to reaching your fundraising target.

This Christmas, say NO to gifts (stay with us...)

We know, this is a tough ask, but we figure if you’re fundraising for a cause close to your heart, you’re the kind of person who won’t mind putting gifts aside for one year.

So ask all your friends and family for donations to help you reach your fundraising target rather than buying you a gift this year.

Your charity will no doubt have a Christmas appeal, so get in touch with them directly to hear about how best to engage support at this time of year.
