ADRA Tongariro Crossing 2021

In May 2021, a team of compassionate and determined adventurers are trekking the incredible Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Join us on this 3-day adventure as we discover the rugged volcanic landscape of New Zealand’s North Island.  Renowned as one of the best short trekking experiences in the world, you’ll be surrounded by volcanic craters and snowy peaks, tussock grasses and glacial lakes. You’ll face steep inclines and rocky ridges, trekking alongside old lava flows and steam vents. Along the way, learn about the formation of the volcanic landforms and their cultural significance to the Māori people. At the highest point of the trek, you are rewarded with breathtaking vistas of Mt. Tongariro and Mt. Ngauruhoe, and unparalleled views of the North Island. 

Around the world, there are millions of people suffering from poverty and hardship. Education access is a key solution to overcoming poverty because the higher a child’s education, the more future opportunities they have. 

By joining ADRA’s Trek for Justice 2021, you’ll be raising funds for ADRA’s international long-term development projects, of which improving education opportunities for children is of high importance. The funds you raise will go to where they are needed most – whether it’s providing water taps and latrines at schools so children can stay at school for the whole day, or helping their parents earn a higher income so they can afford to attend school. All of their projects work towards giving all children access to education to strengthen community livelihoods and build self-reliance.
